The marble's name speaks for itself (Marmaros, Gr.- Sparkling stone). For thousands of years, it has retained the right to be seen as decorative material, shining in every way. Artists have noted that it has been a unique sculptural material since ancient times. The Venus de Milo, the Parthenon, Zeus at Olympus, the pillars of the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, were all made of soft white marble.

Due to its moderate hardness, the stone is well polished and emits a soft flash from the inside. In the light that penetrates the stone, the marble comes alive - a golden halo of light shines around it. It shines in shades of pink, yellow, gray, blue, green, red, brown, black, and is stunning in its various combinations. Colored marble usually has many "stone veins" that are filled with splits of natural mixtures. In Verona, fossils Marlon, Jura, Rosso marble on the scissors, a careful eye will distinguish between ancient shellfish, coral, petrified algae, shell shape. Some types of marble have a mixture of quartz and pyrite that glows with crystal and gold tones.

The variety of textures and colors (from deep black to milky white, which, incidentally, Michelangelo idolized) can make the smartest ideas come true. Depending on the color chosen, the "stone" interior can be warm or cold, huge or airy, luxurious or simple, dark or bright.

Marble processing.

Most stone processing companies produce marble flags in standard sizes: 300 x 300, 305 x 305,400 x 400,600 x 300 mm. Thickness varies from 10-20mm, depending on the use. Considering the texture of the tiles, there are not many ways to treat the marble surface: polishing, grinding, bush hammering, artificial aging.

Polishing and grinding emphasize the natural beauty of the gem. Bushing hammer adds a useful non-slip line to the material. "Antique" is becoming more and more popular, favored by antique lovers, and the interior is stylized. It is believed that natural aging mimics (artificial weathering) create a special atmosphere of softness and warmth. Weathered marble is widely used as floor tiles in modern restaurants and salons: with its help, the designers sought to add realism to the interior. Artificially imitating this natural phenomenon, people may get different degrees of aging. This effect is achieved through special surface treatment techniques, which may include mechanical (including manual) and chemical effects. For example, to produce tabletop, wall and floor decorations, stone mosaics are often used. It was put into a special bucket and the stones rubbed against each other to form a circle.

Marble application.

This decorative material is suitable for both interior and exterior finishes. Floors, walls, stairs, fireplaces, columns, tabletops, countertops, light fixtures, marble trim always look great.

Marble properties.

Marble is durable, strong and weatherproof. Still, it's a soft absorbent material. Marble and shale are known to be carbonate deposits, vulnerable to acids, colorants, and thermal shocks. The marble surface should be protected from thermal shock - a hot cup of tea or coffee can be fatal to the tabletop. Marble stairs or floor surfaces can be made, but the possibility of abrasive particles such as sand dripping onto the marble surface should be prevented, as they can scratch the stone.

When CHOOSING MARBLE FOR DAMP PLACE, SHOULD REMEMBER, CONTACT WITH WATER for a long time can change the color of marble. The reason is oxidation of ferrous mineral admixture. However, this material is more suitable for bathrooms than granite because its structure is more porous and can provide better bonding.
