If you are looking for a promising career and care about the environment, consider becoming a solar panel installer. As CNBC reports, the economy is expected to add 11.5 million jobs over the next decade -- and much of that growth will come from the workers who assemble, install, and maintain solar panel systems on roofs and buildings.

There are currently about 11,300 solar panel installers in the United States, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By 2026, that number will increase to 23,200. The median salary for installers is currently around $37,040, and it's unclear if that figure will rise over the next few years - but what we do know is that it's not hard to find work in the field.

If you don't like the idea of working in the renewable energy field (wind turbine technology positions are also expected to grow 96 percent), consider becoming a home or personal care assistant, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physical therapist assistant. These jobs will contribute about a third of the economy's employment growth over the next 10 years, in part because of our aging population. In addition, the median salary for some of these jobs, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants, is in the six figures.
